Alliance was founded in 1993 by Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti, Fabio Gurgel and Alexandre Paiva. Alliance has the reputation of being one of the best BJJ schools in the world, not only because of its expertise and quality, but also because of its professionalism.

Alliance has produced hundreds of world champions, over 25 of them in the black belt class.

With four competition-proven Black Belts and a clear specialisation in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, we are unique in the region.

Was on the way home and dropped in for a class. The place was hard to find at first (you have to pull into the gated area behind the orange building) but well worth the extra effort!! Learned a cool sweep to defend a common guard pass with variations than rolled for an hour. Everyone was super friendly, no ego, even the big strong white belts (usually my no go!) were a pleasure to roll with. Highly recommend and will definitely be back next time we are going through town.

An incredibly positive and professional atmosphere to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Felipe is a wonderful and motivating Professor. During open mat, upper belts take time to roll with lower belts, sharing technique and experience in an encouraging/welcoming environment.
